What are The Day Before system requirements? While not too demanding, The Day Before – an open-world MMO – is ravenous when it comes to RAM. While the post-apocalyptic survival romp will run on a low-end graphics card from 2015, you might need to revamp your rig if you want to play with higher settings enabled.
You won’t need the best graphics card to run The Day Before, in fact, the system requirements as a whole are very low. With the game due out soon, we are braced either for changes to the lower-level specs, or the announcement of high/ultra specs to give us a true idea of how demanding this game could be.
According to The Day Before minimum requirements, you’re going to need something on par with the Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 to boot up the MMO. On the CPU side, you’ll need the Intel Core i5 8400 or the AMD Ryzen 5 1400. No AMD alternatives are listed in the official Steam requirements, but we’ve tracked these down for you. 16GB of RAM for minimum specs is very demanding, and likely the only aspect of these requirements that will catch some players out.
Minimum | Recommended | |
OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
---|---|---|
CPU | Intel Core i5 8400 AMD Ryzen 5 1400 |
Intel Core i7 8700 AMD Ryzen 7 2700 |
RAM | 16GB | 16GB |
GPU | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 AMD Radeon RX 580 |
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMD Radeon RX 6800 |
VRAM | 6GB | 10GB |
Storage | 55GB | 55GB |
As for The Day Before recommended specs, there is only a small jump in what is required. For your GPU, you’ll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or the AMD Radeon RX 6800. Once again, most low-end systems should pack enough graphical power to surpass this, and we assume that recommended specs refer to playing the game on high settings at 1080p with 30/60fps. On the CPU front, you’ll only need an Intel Core i7 8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700. The RAM requirements thankfully don’t change, and 16GB is the new norm for recommended specs in modern games anyway.
The Day Before download size has shrunk over time as we await release and is now down to just 55GB having previously been sitting at around 80GB. You don’t need an SSD to run the game, but one is preferred over an old-school mechanical drive, according to the requirements.
