What is the Starfield Shattered Space DLC? Despite Starfield being one of the biggest Bethesda games ever made – if not the biggest – the developer isn’t content with leaving it as it is, revealing that there’s at least one expansion already planned.
Bethesda has already confirmed the space game’s first DLC: Shattered Space. Whether or not there will ever be a Starfield sequel, we can probably assume that the world will be broadened with expansions, perhaps in a similar fashion to Skyrim or Fallout 4. So what do we know about Shattered Space, the first Starfield DLC?
Starfield Shattered Space release date speculation
The Starfield: Shattered Space story expansion was revealed as part of the Premium and Constellation editions of Starfield. We estimate that the Shattered Space release date will be in early 2024.
The first Skyrim expansion, Dawnguard, was released eight months after the base game. Likewise, the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4 came out six months after Fallout 4’s release date. Using this information, we can assume an approximate wait time of around six months before the release of Shattered Space. However, since the DLC is already planned and was announced long before the base game was released, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw it even sooner.
Starfield Shattered Space DLC details
Little is known about the Starfield: Shattered Space story expansion yet, but it could follow on from the multiple Starfield endings, or it might be an entirely new story arc altogether. Given that the DLC is officially labeled as a “story expansion” though, we predict Shattered Space to continue the story of the artifacts, and the ongoing fight between the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective Starfield factions.
